The Intervene Challenge
Saturday September 26th, 2026 from 9am to 2pm
Bowdon Baptist Church
205 Mill Street Bowdon GA
CEUs are available for mental health professionals and POST credit for Law Enforcement
Every two weeks, someone in Carroll County loses their life to suicide. In 2024, our local suicide rate was 53% higher than the state average—and this isn’t a one-year spike. Since 2015, we’ve consistently been 19% higher than the rest of Georgia.
These aren’t just statistics. These are neighbors. Friends. Family members. People sitting in our churches, working beside us, and living quietly
in pain.
But here’s the truth: suicide is preventable—and ordinary people can make an extraordinary difference.
That’s why the Intervene Challenge exists.
This isn’t just another event. It’s a hands-on opportunity to learn how to:
✔ Recognize the warning signs
✔ Have real, life-saving conversations
✔ Step in with confidence when it matters most
You don’t need to be a counselor.
You don’t need special credentials.
You just need to care—and be willing to act.
